…Ohaneze commends the ongoing construction of Smart Green Schools and Type 2 Primary Health Centres across the 16 wards of Igbo-Eze South and in the other 244 wards of Enugu State.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Igbo-Eze South Chapter, led by its Chairman, Chief Eugene Ugwu, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze, on Monday, 9 December, 2024.
The delegation also included Ezema Dominic, the Assistant State Organizing Secretary, who represented the Enugu State Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. Frederick Odo Eze. During the visit, the group congratulated the Chairman on his emergence as the Deputy Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Enugu State.
The association commended Barr. Ukwueze for his remarkable performance in office and his commitment to the state government’s governance philosophy, “Tomorrow is Here.” In recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to community development, the group conferred on him the honorary title of Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Igbo-Eze South Chapter.
In his address, Chief Eugene Ugwu highlighted the reasons for the recognition and expressed gratitude to Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for their leadership and impactful projects, saying:
“Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze has demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities and a deep commitment to the progress of Igbo-Eze South. His actions reflect the vision of good governance, and we are proud to have him as our Grand Patron. This is a well-deserved honour. We also thank Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for the ongoing construction of Smart Green Schools and Type 2 Primary Health Centres across the 16 wards of Igbo-Eze South and in the other 244 wards of Enugu State. These projects will transform education and healthcare access for our communities and strengthen the vision of ‘Tomorrow is Here.”
Representing the State Chairman, Ezema Dominic commended Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze for his remarkable achievements within a short period in office. Highlighting the Chairman’s focus on infrastructural development, he said:
“Barr. Ugo Ferdinand has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a clear commitment to improving the lives of the people of Igbo-Eze South. Within just a few months, his administration has embarked on vital projects that address critical needs in our communities. The ongoing 35km road grading and soil stabilization projects are proof of his proactive approach to enhancing accessibility and easing transportation challenges for residents.
Additionally, the rectification of electricity issues in some communities is another remarkable achievement. These efforts have brought light to homes and businesses, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for our people. This level of dedication and results-oriented leadership sets a standard for others to emulate, and we are proud to have such a visionary leader at the helm.”
In response, Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze expressed his gratitude for the recognition and the support of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. He remarked:
“I am deeply humbled and honoured to be named the Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Igbo-Eze South Chapter. Your acknowledgment of my efforts inspires me to continue serving our people with dedication and integrity. I deeply appreciate the role you played during the campaigns, on election day, and afterward to maintain peace in our community. Together, we will achieve greater heights for Igbo-Eze South and Enugu State at large.”
The visit concluded with mutual assurances of continued partnership to promote the development of Igbo-Eze South and the entire Enugu North Senatorial Zone. Both parties pledged to collaborate on key initiatives, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and peace-building efforts, in line with the state government’s “Tomorrow is Here” vision. This partnership aims to improve the standard of living and create opportunities for residents across Igbo-Eze SouthLocal Government Area.
