Abbi Community Holds Peaceful and Transparent Town Union Election

In what has been described as a peaceful and transparent exercise, the Abbi community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area successfully conducted its President-General (PG) election through Option A4 voting method.

The election, monitored by TodaysPrime reporters on 3rd of May 2025 at Central School Abbi, featured two candidates Ozor Mathias Ajogwu and Mr. Mike Dieke following the withdrawal of Dr. Amah Joseph, who stepped down in favour of his brother, Ozor Mathias.

At the close of voting, preliminary results showed that Mike Dieke polled a total of 235 votes, while Ozor Mathias Ajogwu emerged ahead with 262 votes. However, as at the time of filing this report, an official announcement was yet to be made by the Enugu State Ministry of Rural Development.

Speaking to TodaysPrime after casting his vote, a member of the community, Mr. Johnson Oluku Ajogwu from Isiyi Abbi, expressed gratitude to the Ministry for ensuring a free and fair election. He also urged the authorities to uphold the integrity of the process by delivering an unbiased and accurate result for the peace and progress of Abbi community.
