Veteran Nollywood actress, Annie Macaulay, has officially confirmed her divorce from Nigerian music legend, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
The actress made the revelation on Sunday night during the 17th edition of the Headies Awards, held in Lagos, while presenting the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year alongside Farooq Oreagba, the popular “King of Steeze” from the 2024 Ojude Oba festival.
While introducing herself on stage, Annie inadvertently corrected her name, signalling her return to her maiden name.
“Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she said, drawing loud cheers from the audience.
It would be recalled that Annie, who went silent on social media for several weeks, reappeared in March 2025, signing off with her full maiden name, “Annie Uwana Macaulay,” on Instagram notably dropping the “Idibia” surname.
Annie’s marriage to 2Baba, which produced two children, officially ended in January 2025, when the singer publicly announced their separation after years of marital challenges.
In a swift turn of events, 2Baba subsequently proposed to Edo lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, and has since introduced her to his family and kinsmen in Benue State, fuelling speculation of an impending wedding.
