BREAKING: Gov Mbah’s Exceptional Leadership Attracts LP Chieftains Back to PDP — Emeka Mamah

…Opposition Parties Are Collapsing Due to Mass Rejection – PDP Chairman

A major political realignment occurred in Enugu State on Tuesday as a prominent chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) and former Coordinator of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign in the state, Prince Emeka Mamah, formally returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing Governor Peter Mbah’s visionary leadership and sterling performance as the motivation for his defection.

Mamah, a longtime ally of LP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, was received at the PDP State Secretariat in Enugu by the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Martin Chukwuweike, alongside another high-profile defector Barr. Titus Odo, the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the LP in Enugu and former chairmanship candidate for Igboeze North LGA.

Speaking at the defection ceremony, Mamah commended Governor Mbah for redefining leadership in Enugu State, stating that his style of governance marked a significant departure from past disappointments.

“The present governor, Peter Mbah, has shown that governance should not be business as usual. He has completely won my admiration, and that is why I, along with the people I brought here today and many others, have decided to return to the PDP,” Mamah said.

A former Commissioner for Environment and Rural Development, Mamah disclosed that more former LP stakeholders who were disenchanted in the past but have been reconciled by the governor’s inclusive leadership style, would soon make their way back to the PDP.

“In the coming days, expect a major movement of my former associates people who stood with us during the elections under Peter Obi and Barr. Chijioke Edeoga to also return to the PDP in support of Governor Mbah,” he revealed.

On his part, Barr. Odo described the PDP as his political home, stressing that his return was influenced by both Governor Mbah’s developmental strides and the support of Barr. Edeoga. He appealed to the people of Enugu State to support the governor’s policies to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the 260 wards of the state.

Receiving the defectors, Dr. Chukwuweike hailed the development as a sign of growing confidence in the PDP, noting that the mass movement from the LP and APC was a result of dwindling trust in opposition parties.

“Our party is getting stronger every day because of the outstanding performance and transparency of Governor Mbah. The APC and LP are collapsing due to lack of public trust. What we are witnessing is only the beginning. More big names from the opposition, including members of the National Assembly, are on their way to the PDP,” Chukwuweike assured.

He maintained that the governor’s leadership ethos driven by honesty, inclusiveness, and performance was behind the wave of defections, describing the PDP’s resurgence as “the result of purposeful governance.”

“The governor gave the directive, and we are implementing it successfully. What’s working for us is the governor’s sincerity and the visible impact of his work. Anyone who sees it can no longer remain in opposition,” he stated.

The PDP chairman hinted that not less than four top lawmakers from the National Assembly would be joining the party in the next few days, further strengthening the PDP’s dominance in Enugu politics.
