Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved an 80,000 Naira minimum wage for the state’s workers, effective immediately.
In a social media post, Mbah expressed his satisfaction in announcing this new wage, emphasizing the government’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of its workers.
“We’ve approved the sum of 80,000 Naira to take immediate effect as the new minimum wage in Enugu State,” he said.
He added that the move is hinged on his administration’s believe that the labour is a creator of wealth and if well taken care of, will grow wealth for the state.
