In a formal ceremony held in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Hon. Zacchaeus Ukwueze Ikedi and Hon. Tony Shevchenko were officially sworn-in today, 7th November 2024 as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) and Chief of Staff, respectively. The event, overseen by Council Chairman, Barr. Ugochukwu Ferdinand Ukwueze, reaffirms the council’s commitment to the Progress Agenda while aligning with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s vision of disruptive innovation to drive development across Enugu State.
In his address, Chairman Ukwueze congratulated the two appointees and emphasized the core principles of the Progress Agenda, stressing that this initiative focuses on his administration’s dedication to impactful, people-centered governance.”Today marks a significant step forward for our local government and the people of Igbo-Eze South. As we welcome Hon. Zacchaeus Ukwueze Ikedi as Secretary to the Local Government and Hon. Tony Shevchenko as Chief of Staff, I urge you both to approach this role with commitment, integrity, and a clear focus on serving our council.
The Progress Agenda we pursue here is not just a slogan, but a guiding principle meant to bring real, positive change to every ward, neighbourhood, and household. I encourage you not to see this role merely as a position but as a responsibility.

The Chairman expressed confidence that the appointments of Hon. Ukwueze Ikedi and Hon. Shevchenko would strengthen local leadership and help propel the council’s vision forward.
