It Is False, Misleading, and a Figment of the Author’s Imagination – Uzo-Uwani LGA Debunks Claims of Entraco Bus Terminal Closure

…Says security operatives fully deployed to Adani route

Authorities of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State, have strongly refuted online reports alleging the closure of the popular Entraco Bus Terminal in Nsukka, which serves commuters traveling to Adani in Uzo-Uwani.

In a statement issued on Monday, the council described the viral report as “false, misleading, and a figment of the imagination of its author,” urging members of the public to disregard the publication and continue their normal activities without fear.

The clarification came through Solomon Gwiyi, the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman of Uzo-Uwani LGA on Communication and Strategy, who emphasized that the bus terminal remains fully operational.

According to Gwiyi, the purported shutdown of the terminal due to rising insecurity and alleged kidnapping incidents along the Nsukka-Adani axis is nothing but deliberate misinformation aimed at inciting fear and causing unnecessary panic among residents and travelers.

“The online report stating that the popular Entraco Bus Terminal, which conveys passengers between Nsukka and Adani, has been closed due to insecurity, is entirely untrue. In fact, just this morning, the fifth bus from Adani to Nsukka was loaded, and more buses continue to arrive from Nsukka into Adani,” Gwiyi stated.

He assured residents that the administration of Rt. Hon. Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu is fully committed to the safety and wellbeing of every citizen in the council area, adding that a combined team of security personnel including the District Response Squad (DRS) and local Neighborhood Watch operatives has been strategically deployed across Uzo-Uwani, with specific attention to the Adani route.

“You will also recall that our governor, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has doubled down on security efforts in the state, with more DRS operatives deployed to flashpoints to reinforce safety measures,” he added.

Gwiyi therefore called on the public to disregard what he described as the handiwork of mischief-makers, urging residents and travelers to go about their daily engagements without fear or apprehension.

“Security measures are firmly in place. Our people should not be misled by false narratives spread by individuals with ulterior motives,” he concluded.
