Tinubu Never Endorsed Peter Mbah for Second Term — APC Enugu Declares

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has strongly refuted claims by billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, alleging that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for a second term.

The rebuttal, signed by the Enugu APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Titus Ezeagu, described Arthur Eze’s statement as “misleading, self-serving and entirely baseless.” The party emphasized that Prince Eze has no mandate to speak for the President, as he is not a member of the APC and never supported Tinubu’s presidential bid.

“Prince Arthur Eze is not a member of our party. He has never played any official role in President Tinubu’s campaign or government. In fact, he openly opposed Tinubu in the 2023 elections, preferring another candidate altogether,” the statement read.

Ezeagu noted that at no point has President Tinubu, either privately or publicly, endorsed any sitting governor, including Governor Mbah, for a second term.

The party further called on individuals like Arthur Eze to refrain from making unverified political pronouncements capable of distorting democratic processes and misrepresenting the President.

“Mr. Eze should focus on his business and stop dragging the name of the President into baseless political propaganda aimed at promoting the unpopular PDP-led administration in Enugu State,” the statement continued.

The APC described his actions as part of a pattern, citing a similar claim he made regarding Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, which was later debunked when Tinubu publicly threw his support behind APC candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, for the 2025 Anambra governorship election.

The statement further criticized Prince Arthur Eze’s political conduct, describing him as a known AGIP (Any Government in Power) loyalist with a history of promoting regimes aligned with military dictators and anti-democratic interests.

“We urge him to wean himself off garrison politics and realize that Nigeria is under a democratic dispensation led by a thorough democrat in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” it stated.

The Enugu APC also reiterated that both Governor Mbah and Prince Arthur Eze remain loyal members and promoters of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and advised Eze to focus his energy on helping the PDP resolve its internal issues.

“Instead of name-dropping Mr. President, Prince Eze should assist Governor Mbah in lobbying for the confirmation of Mr. Udeokoye as PDP National Secretary, so that Mbah does not end up as a governor without a valid political platform—much like his political mentor, former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani,” the statement added.

The party concluded by reaffirming its commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and presenting a strong alternative to PDP in the 2027 elections under the leadership of Hon. Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology.
